7th Grade Band
The 7th-grade bands meet daily in two different class periods. Within these class periods, we are able to divide the students into like-instrument groups where we can focus on the learning of skills and techniques needed to master their instrument. There they will begin learning everything they need to know, including how to read music, assemble and disassemble, as well as, how to clean their instruments. As we learn these basic skills, we will work toward the goal of learning music to perform for our winter concert, spring concert, and prepare for the ASBOA Solo and Ensemble Contest. Students may sign up for a band when setting their regular class schedule. If you would like to be part of our program, contact your school counselor or one of our band directors for more information.
8th Grade Band
The Vilonia Eighth Grade Band performs with the Ninth Grade for home Jr. High football games and other performances. One of the Jr. High Band’s first performances will be at the Faulkner County Fair Parade in downtown Conway. We will send home information including dates, times, route, and other details in September. After the football season closes, the band continues to work on music for winter and spring concerts, as well as music for the Arkansas School Band & Orchestra Association’s Region Concert Assessment and prepare for the ASBOA Solo and Ensemble Contest. We also offer a jazz band after school to 8th grade students that performs each year at the Arkansas Jazz Educators Conference. If you would like to be part of our program, contact your school counselor or one of our band directors for more information.
